I was in a cafe in Saarbruecken. I don't know the name of the cafe but it is at St. Johanner Markt. And, it was fantastic there. We all jumped happily when Oezil scored a goal.
Yes, Ghana is definitely not easy. Ghana was the runner-up of this year's African Cup. But Germany is too strong for Ghana. And, I am just so happy that Germany can still make it to the next round. Because if Germany had lost to Ghana, German football players would've had to pack their belongings and go back home.
It is too bad that my favorite team the Socceroos doesn't make it to the next round. But I'm quite satisfied! After being defeated 0-4 by germany, the Australian soccer team could have a draw with Ghana and today it won over Serbia, who had defeated Germany. And finally Australia has the same points with Ghana, the runner-up of the group. Australia cannot make it just because it lost 0-4 to Germany. But it is still a good job from the Socceroos I guess. Here is the result of Group D
1. Germany 6
2. Ghana 4
3. Australia 4
4. Serbia 3
What a tough group! Each team has made a victory at least once.
And, of course all Saarbriggers (people who live in Saarbruecken, Germany) celebrated it happily! Too bad I didn't bring my camera because I was afraid I could lose it in the middle of the crowd. So, I captured some moments with the camera from my handphone. The pictures were captured in Rathaus. The Saarbriggers blocked the road! They even lifted a motorcyle and the motorcyclist on it! House music was played and everybody sang "DEUTSCHLANDDDD! DEUTSCHLANDDDD! DEUTSCHLANDDDD! DEUTSCHLANDDD!". Even they made fun with the police car.
But it was a very very great time. I really enjoyed my time here. And, Oezil is totally a national hero! I can't wait to see Germany play against England this Sunday. And oh la la I won't be working at that time! Super.
